The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the death bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering on PS5 topics for the first time. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Xbox still intends to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — which makes them excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
