Rise, Sir David Beckham: Football Legend Honoured by King Charles at Windsor Castle Investiture
David Beckham received a honorary title at Windsor Castle on the weekday. The former England captain, 50, was one of the individuals receiving awards for his services to sport and charity. Earlier this year, he expressed he was “immensely proud” of being recognised in the monarch's annual honors list.
Football Career Highlights
The player first appeared in England's top division for the Red Devils in the mid-nineties and was part of the team that secured a thrilling European Cup win in the late nineties when they beat the German giants with two late goals.
In total, he netted 85 goals and collected honours including multiple English championships and two FA Cups as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in 2013. Alongside his football career, he has backed a number of charity causes, including serving as a charitable representative for humanitarian aid organisation the United Nations Children's Fund since the mid-2000s.

Charitable and Other Roles
Last year, the sports star, who has referred to himself as a “devoted monarchist”, was named an ambassador for the royal educational charity, an educational charity established by the King in 1990. In the late nineties he was declared most stylish man of the year by GQ magazine and he has modelled for companies such as the fashion retailer, Armani, and Boss.
Beckham tied the knot with Victoria in the turn of the millennium and the pair have four children together – their eldest, Romeo, the third child, and Harper.
